Windows 95/97 BSoD

When I get bored I make things. Today I decided to faithfully recreate the infamous Windows Blue Screen of Death, in HTML & CSS. I used the image below as a reference, and got to work.

Yay for low-quality images of  near two decade old hardware!

It was extremely simple, and most of my time was spent lining all my elements up correctly. The only thing I wasn't able to recreate was the use of asterisks for the two instructions. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to change the type of bullet used in an unordered list, so I just left them as standard bullet-points. I could have just used some other element than a list, but a list made the most sense to use there, so I just went with that. Edit: I managed to do it!

Fancy CSS Stuff

With the power of CSS(Cascading Style Sheets) we are now able to change a multitude of things on webpages to help make them more visually pleasing. One of these things is the colour of the text you select. Go ahead, try and select some text! Sexy isn't it? If it's not working, you may need a more up to date browser.

Doing this is extremely simple, and if you want to do try it for yourself, you can just add the two lines below to your CSS file.

My First Gamejam Submission - nabokOS.exe

Recently a gamejam by the name of the Cyberpunk Jam was hosted over at itch.io. So, foolishly I decided to try my hand at creating some sort of game for it. I decided it would probably be best to try and complete my game in less than a day, so I used the fantastic PuzzleScript, as it's extremely easy to use to create a quick little puzzle game. So after about 4 hours of on and off work, nabokOS.exe was the result - A strange and difficult little puzzle game.

I think everything went pretty well, the only things I would change with nabokOS.exe are the initial difficulty, and add a few more levels. As it is now, a lot of people get to the third level (pictured above) and give up - it's too hard.  

There have also been a few videos of my game on YouTube, and it's really interesting and fun to watch people play it and solve the puzzles. A lot of people seem to get frustrated at some of the harder levels, which is quite funny to watch, as I know all the solutions to the levels.
